Delicious Inspiration

This picture was taken in the restaurant Left Bank in San Jose, California. It is a wonderful restaurant on Santana Row, the poshest street in town. The food is great, the atmosphere is French and the the weather is always wonderful!!!

This is a new title that I created for my SCAL. I used it on a baby boy album!! I love this font!!! I like to create my own titles, because I have a little obsession...I want everything (almost...haha) in my album to match/to be coordinated, especially the titles!!

Sure Cuts a Lot - review

I have to start this review with....I just love it!!!! It is a wonderful software.

I bought the program...easy to install no problems there. I was over enthusiastic so I wanted to cut something right away and it did not work. I was so disappointed:(:(. Of course, the problem was my Cricut's firmware. I downloaded the trial version of Design Studio, I upgraded my firmware...and that was it. But then the magic started. I literally discovered a whole new world.

The SCAL uses svg files in order to cut. SVG files are vector based image that basically tell the Cricut where to cut. Getting your own image into the SCAL is very easy. All you have to do is go to File>Import SVG and then navigate to your desired file. This eliminates the need to buy new cartridges, which I would say is very cost efficient!!

I love this program so much that I stated creating my own svg files. So stay tuned for more updates on my SCAL experience.

4th of July Extravaganzza!!!! - the preparation

I know it's not yet 4th of July, but I am already preparing. We are planning a BBQ for 4th of July, probably like most people, and I decided that I do some decorations ahead of time.

I spent the evening with my mother-in-law crafting and cutting and gluing.....and this is what we came up. The shapes were really easy to cut as I had the digital cutter files to use with my die-cut machine. The files area really wonderfully creative. Just import them and you are ready to go!!! We cut the front and back of each shape and then glued them on a skewer.









We had so much fun doing them that I need to stock up on some more paper in red, blue and white.

Delicious Inspiration

It's been a long time since I've had a delicious inspiration, so it is long time a due.

Here is my husband's favorite......FONDUE. It is delicious. It is very easy to make. It is a combination of cheese: I make it with Comte, Emmentaler and Gruyere cheese equal portions, add to the pot champagne or white wine, garlic, spoonful of flour and black pepper. Mix it until it melts. You eat it by dipping fresh bread in the pot.

Yummy!!! Now go scrap.......or eat.....which ever suits you best!!! :):)

QuicKutz Silhouette -

A few weeks ago, I started creating digital files that I can use with my SCAL and Cricut to cut different shapes. They work really nice and I love creating them and then sharing them with all of you. But I do not want to discriminate all the Silhouette owners...so I created this file as a test.....to see if I did the conversion correctly (as I cannot test it myself). Please download it and test it.....and let me know if it works by leaving a comment. I am very curious and cannot wait to do more files.

CD labels for my husband

Finally, my husband has seen the wonderful versatility of scrapbooking. This week I created labels for his CD cases.

I cut white cardstock to size and I inked the edges. I used the BasicGrey Whirlie Whirls Clear Acrylic Stamps to decorate the paper. For the numbers I used pattern paper from the Marrakech collection. Finally, I pierced the edges and sewed the label to the cover of case.

NOTE: When you want to cut front and back from two different pattern papers (and glue them together), the back has to be the mirror image of the front.......therefore place your paper face down on you cutting mat.

This is a layout to celebrate our 2nd marriage anniversary! My gift to my husband was a weekend in San Francisco. So here we are!!! Of course I used my new toy to create texture for my Bazzil paper!!!

What can you do with a Cuttlebug without embossing folders?? So here is my first one!!! I was so happy to buy it!! Just jumping for joy!!

Free Svg File for your SCAL

I am jumping for joy!!! I just got the SCAL and with my husband's help, I managed to create my first svg file. As you probably know already, the SCAL can cut any svg formatted file.

I used my files to create the airplane that you see on the cover of this album:

The file is a zip and inside you have all the elements to create a wonderful airplane. For my embellishment I only used the files named "airplane", "largewing1" and "largewing2". And remember that you have to use the command "Import SVG" on your SCAL.
