Color Inspiration 7

Hi everyone!

I am not such big fan of this rug, meaning I cannot imagine it on my floor, but I do love the colors. It is very busy, but at the same time the color combination is wonderful and would work great on a card.

The picture is from  www.anthropologie.com,  You can find the rug HERE (if the link does not work, maybe the item is sold out).

Labels part 2 - Free digital files

Morning everyone!

I know you've been waiting for the second part of the labels, so without further ado, here it comes:

Please read before downloading: These files are for personal use only, they are not perfect but they are free. The zip contains png, jpg and svg versions of the images. I only have a very very old Cricut machine, so I've tested the files with my ancestral SCAL and Cricut and they worked fine.I understand that Silhouette users can use the png file and covert it to their specific type. Send some love to the designer before downloading and please credit me for my creation. Without your support I won't be able to keep creating my designs.

JessicaSprague lessons - Beginners - Lesson 3

Hello everyone!

Here is lesson 3 from Jessica Sprague's beginner series:

I love the pictures in this layout and the design of the layout. I made this layout from scratch following video step-by-step instructions. In this lesson I learned about:

  • Adding a patterned paper background
  • How to use the Erase tool to modify a templete layer
  • Creating a title by mixing two fonts
  • Creating a six-photo block
  • Stamping a date image
  • Creating an outlined circle with the Marquee and Stroke command
I am shocked actually at how fast I am learning new skills, but I am not finding it overwhelming because in each lesson I get to practice past skills and acquire new ones.

Digital scrapbooking - Santa layout

Hello all!!

Here is another digital scrapbooking tutorial, a little bit different than my previous tutorials. This time I have a walk through of how I created  a digital layout.

As a starting point, I have used a template from noreimerreason.com and I also used a digital kit freebie  that I downloaded from shabbyprincess.com. The kit is called Sun Porch and you can find the link below.

The background noise that you hear is actually my computer's cooler working hard, I am trying to eliminate that noise for future videos.

In this layout I show you the following techniques/tools:
- using a template as a starting point for your layout
- clipping masks
- build a title from an alphabet
- fill letters with color using the bucket tool

Please leave a comment. You can also watch this on YouTube

JessicaSprague leesons - Beginners - Bonus 2

Hello everyone!

Here is my bonus layout for the beginner class, where I get a chance to practice what I learned in the previous lesson:

This one I made from scratch using a digital kit provided with the lesson. The journaling came with the kit and so did the title, I just assembled everything. I think it turned out OK considering that it is my first ever layout that I make from scratch.

You can find Jessica Sprague classes HERE, so far I love them, comprehensive, well built, wonderful pace and great explanations.

Color inspiration 4

Hello everyone!

And we are back with another color combination.

Yes, we are still at my favorite store Anthropologie and I really like the shape of this dress.

I would like to talk to you about what you can do with these color pallets. The other day, my husband saw me working on a post and said something within the line.......it's all nice and dandy, but what do you do with it? And this is a valid question, so here is the answer. You can use this color pallets to make more interesting and unexpected color choices for your layouts or you can use them for cardmaking. These color pallets can also help you train your eye to identify different colors in pattern papers and translate them in Bazzill cardstock.

The picture is from  www.anthropologie.com,  You can find the dress HERE (if the link does not work, maybe the dress is sold out).
